With the debut of the 10 Pro, OnePlus appears to have borrowed a page from co-founder Carl Pei’s book. Gone, it seemed, are the days when we could find everything we needed to know about a new device in one convenient area. Instead, the business is slowly revealing details about its latest flagship.

We received our first official look at the product’s design overnight, thanks to a launch announcement in China. We’re getting some critical product specifications today. The business cancelled their unofficial CES presence last week, which means there won’t be a huge in-person event this week to check out the device (probably for the best). That means we’ll have to wait a little longer for other important details, like North American availability, for example.

Following a series of credible-looking leaks, we now have confirmation from OnePlus that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be among the first handsets to have Qualcomm’s next flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. This is the rebranded successor of the 888 from last year. We expected that, considering OnePlus (and its parent company, Oppo) were among the first partners to be announced — though Xiaomi, another Chinese gadget maker, beat OnePlus to the punch by releasing the first handset to support the chip.

The system runs OxygenOS, which is based on Android 12 and which the company recently coupled with Oppo’s ColorOS, which it has only demonstrated as a beta. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the triple-camera system on the back has 48, 50, and eight-megapixel lenses. More information about the camera system’s breakdown will most likely be provided in a future release. The device has a 5,000mAh battery and supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. More information will be available soon.
