Isn’t it lovely to live in a world where no one sends you spam emails? They’re not going anywhere anytime soon, but Apple has a new option called Hide My Email that can help you get rid of them.

Hide My Email is a new feature in iOS 15 that creates a random, unique burner email to shield your primary inbox from spam. You won’t have to give up your real email address to firms you do business with if you don’t want your information sold to third-party marketing organizations.

The new privacy feature is part of iCloud Plus, a premium subscription that costs $1 to $10 per month, but if you’re already an iCloud user, you’ll get the upgrade automatically when you download iOS 15.

You can create and delete as many email addresses as you wish with Hide My Email. The burner emails will be routed to your real email address, so you can quickly delete them once you’ve finished with them (for example, after you’ve purchased something or signed up for a subscription to obtain a coupon code).

How to Use Hide My Email to Create an Email Address

  • On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings.
  • At the top of the Settings menu, tap your Apple ID name.
  • Choose iCloud.
  • Select Hide My Email from the drop-down menu.
  • Create a new address by tapping Create new address. If you don’t like the one that’s been produced, hit Use Different Address to get up to three more options.
  • Continue with your address and label it to assist you remember how to utilize it. You have the option of forwarding an email to a specific address.
  • After that, tap Next and then Done.

How to Use Hide My Email to Deactivate an Address

  • On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings.
  • At the top of the Settings menu, tap your Apple ID name.
  • Select iCloud.
  • Select Hide My Email from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the email address you want to deactivate from the drop-down menu.
  • Deactivate the email address by tapping it.
  • To confirm, tap Deactivate.
  • You can reactivate an inactive address, which can be located at the bottom of your active addresses list under the Inactive Addresses section.
