Amazon Alexa Delivery Notifications: How to Turn Them Off

Amazon Alexa can do a lot of things, but keeping gifts hidden isn’t one of them. Your holiday surprises could be wrecked if the yellow light on your Echo device blinks every time anything you ordered from Amazon is on its way or has been delivered.

“Alexa, where is my stuff?” is all your devious kids or partner have to say. Alexa will then go through everything you requested. Of course, many of them will be mundane items like dish soap and hangers, but she’ll have plenty of opportunities to say things like “Your delivery of fluffy slippers is on its way” or “Your parcel of Nintendo Switch has been delivered.”

You’ll need to disable notifications on your Echo devices in the Alexa app to ensure Alexa doesn’t spoil Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever holiday or birthday you’re celebrating.

Here’s how to disable notifications

  • Open the Alexa App.
  • Open More and select Settings.
  • Select Notifications.
  • Select a feature to view notification options.
  • Use the toggle to turn Notifications on or off.

If you wish to continue receiving delivery alerts after the holidays, turn notifications back on.
